A team from Jackson have transformed the delivery of multi-element joint replacement schemes by introducing Weekend Wonder-Shifts which have fast-tracked the project programme and designed out the need to install a temporary joint on the structure - delivering the schemes for 30% of their original predicted cost and with 10% of the person-hours compared to the original method.
Building Project of the Year National Award Winner 2020
Lymington Fields is Europe’s largest school with over 4,000 pupils once fully occupied, and was handed over 7 months ahead of programme in just 15 months. The client, the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, took the project to market with a RIBA Stage 3 design and received back several unaffordable tenders.
The adoption of Mid Group’s Manufacturing Led Construction approach allowed Mid Group to sign a contract at £26m, against market tenders of over £35m, with savings of c.£3.5m alone on prelims. This took the project from being unaffordable to deliverable.
People Development National Award Highly Commended 2020

Training and retaining makes good business sense and for Walker Construction people development is central to their strategy. A culture of learning improves employee relations and retention, efficiency, quality of service and the image of construction.
