News: CoTrain Newsletter - Dec 2020

21 December 2020

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the CoTrain team

Thank you to everyone involved in CoTrain's shared apprenticeships in 2020 including:

  • Sutton Housing Society - appointment of our first Housing and Property Maintenance Management Apprentice Isabel Farr.
  • Milestone - working in two areas to allow us to offer multiple apprenticeships for Property Maintenance Operatives (which has replaced the previous Multi-Trade Apprenticeship).
  • Stepnell Construction - stepped up to help Che Agrella finish the final few months of his apprenticeship after COVID-19 ended his previous placement.
  • Midas Group - helped Adam Holloway complete the second year of his apprenticeship after his previous placement became a casualty of COVID-19.

Are you using your levy transfer?
We are delighted that some of our partners have embraced social value by using their unspent training levy on CoTrain apprentice college fees.

If you aren't familiar, this levy transfer adds to your CSR agenda, while supporting apprentice career paths and the UK’s future workforce. It goes back to the gov if you don't use it.

We now have 6 apprentices supported via a levy transfer. We can help you with your apprenticeship programme. Drop us a message on 0118 920 7208 or richard@cotrain.org.uk.

Wates shows commitment to shared apprenticeships

Our shared apprentices at Wates (L-R - Aaron Soor, Adam Gordon, Chloe Cadman, James O'Neill, Lucas Upsall, Matt Maskell with Sally Kinchin - Community Investment Manager at Wates)

With backgrounds like painting/roofing and accountancy, our apprentices come from a range of backgrounds. Alec Jackman, Wates Business Unit Director, recently met Aaron Soor, "What a great trainee to have with us. Enthusiasm and energy were fantastic."

We are closed from 4.00 pm Weds 23 Dec - 8.30 am Mon 4 Jan.

Cheers,
CoTrain team
