Apprentice of the Month & Highly Commended Awards

Apprentice of the Month: Sam Morris - Site Management Apprentice with Dandara

We are pleased to announce that the winner of Apprentice of the Month is Sam Morris, a first year apprentice currently on a site management role with Dandara, a national housebuilder. Sam was nominated by Engineer, Christian O’Brien.

Working in the newly established South East office in Ower, Sam identified that there was a need to record and track staff training, H&S certifications, CSCS records and to highlight training needs. In addition, he has been working across multiple departments, gaining experience of different activities on projects, balancing his workload to meet deadlines and checking designs for accuracy. One of these checks identified a design problem and highlighted an issue which had not yet been addressed by an external designer, thereby saving money and time through his due diligence.

Highly Commended Award: Hannah Fleming - Carpentry Apprentice with Midas

Our Highly Commended award was given to to Hannah Fleming, a first year carpentry apprentice working with Midas Construction in Southampton. Nominated by Neil Lord-Hatton, Project Director for Midas. He commented that although Hannah was new into the industry, she is excellent and motivated and is missed when she is at college on block release rather than onsite. Although she is new, Hannah designed, procured and constructed the gateman hut herself and the team there is impressed with her work approach.

Congratulations to both our apprentices and well done for all your continued hard work on placements!
